Hamburg International Graduate School for the Study of Regional Powers
Over the course of the next decade, we expect there to be fundamental shifts across the world within both the global and the regional architectures of power. Currently, however, the newly emerging global and regional configurations of the twenty-first century are only visible in fragmented sketches. To address, document and keep pace with these developments, the Hamburg International Graduate School for the Study of Regional Powers has recently been established. It has as its mandate the analysis of the causes, forms and repercussions o these unfolding power shifts among non-European regions and states, related conflicts about regional leadership within these geographical areas, potential contests over spheres of influence, and the formation of governance structures among the new regional powers.
